This year, as I'm recovering from a foot reconstruction, I’m writing 20,000 words this May to support Autistic Australians
I’ve stepped up to Walk for Autism again this year. Unfortunately, I am recovering from my second foot reconstruction so I can't walk, but I can write - so this May I will be writing 20,000 words in support of Autistic Australians, especially my darling Tee 🤍
Did you know that 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health challenges, and that's just the start of the difficulties they experience.
Accessing services, support and disability-friendly activities is incredibly challenging every day. This challenging experience of the world is even greater for people who are Profoundly Autistic and/or have a variety of additional disabilities, like Tee.
Cost of living expenses are high, so please know that if you choose to donate even a dollar, your donation will help deliver services that support Autistic people to live their best life.
Funds raised can help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.
