Meet Cushman & Wakefield
Back in 2024, global real estate leader Cushman & Wakefield joined thousands of Australians in the Walk for Autism, walking 7,000 steps a day throughout May.
Anna Town, Head of Business Development Services at Cushman & Wakefield, highlighted that participating in Walk for Autism was a powerful way to support employees, contractors, clients, and families on the autism spectrum. “With 1 in 40 people now estimated to be on the autism spectrum, this highlights how common neurodiversity is and the need for better understanding and support for the 675,000 Australians affected,” said Anna.
The event sparked conversations about neurodiversity within the company, where employees shared personal stories about their experiences with autism, building a stronger, more connected community. Anna emphasized that simply asking an Autistic colleague about their needs is a simple yet effective way to show empathy and support in the workplace.
Cushman & Wakefield’s commitment to inclusivity extends beyond the event, as they work with Aspect’s Autism Friendly Team to improve accessibility in workplaces and public spaces. By fostering inclusive environments, the company is helping create a more welcoming Australia for everyone.
Together, for the second year, employees at Cushman & Wakefield raised an impressive $22,256 for Walk for Autism - showing that inclusivity and support go beyond the workplace!
RSM Australia
National Chairman of RSM Australia, Jamie O’Rourke, shares why their business participates in Walks for Autism:
“At RSM Australia, we value the communities in which we live and work, and over recent years, we have focused on our overall social responsibility - how we can give back to the community. Like me, many of our team members share a personal connection to autism. This is not surprising, as we have 1,250 staff and an estimated 1 in 70 Australians are on the autism spectrum. Over the past few years, RSM has been involved in Walk for Autism. I am thrilled to witness the growing enthusiasm of so many to be involved in this very worthy cause. Walk for Autism provides us with a fantastic way to give back to the community in which we work and live. It also has the added benefit of improving our health and physical well-being. Our experience has only been positive, and I would encourage other businesses to be involved in the Walk for Autism Workplace Team Challenge.”
For the second year running, RSM Australia rallied 50 teams and 209 participants across the country - raising over an incredible $15,000 for Walk for Autism. A standout effort making real change happen.
Public Sector People
Public Sector People (PSP), part of Search4, assembled enthusiastic PSP teams across QLD, VIC and NSW to get behind Walk for Autism, bringing their people together in support of a meaningful cause.
Being their first year taking part in Walk for Autism, PSP didn’t hold back. They threw their support behind the event as a Matched Giving Partner for our Dollar Match Day, doubling donations and inspiring even more generosity across the community. Their commitment helped the day become a standout success, raising an incredible $55,045 and creating an impact felt nationwide.
Northern Inland Credit Union
Credit unions have a long history of supporting their communities, and NICU continues this by backing not-for-profits, initiatives and events across arts, education, health and local sports.
In 2025, NICU extended this support to Aspect, dedicated to empowering Autistic people, by joining Walk for Autism for the first time. Through staff sign-ups, they raised over $5,000, and as a Matched Giving Partner for Dollar Match Day, they helped double donations - contributing to an incredible total of $55,000 to support Autistic people and their families.
Victoria University
Stepping Up for Autism Awareness
Victoria University joined Walk for Autism 2025 with 34 teams, showing incredible support for the autism community and helping raise awareness. In their first year participating, they motivated teams by offering prizes for those who raised over $1,000 and reached their step goals - think dining experiences, coffee vouchers, event tickets, and more - sparking excitement and participation across their community.
