I'm walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians
This year I have decided to participate in the Walk for Autism, to advocate, support and do my part is supporting Children with Autism. This year it hits home a little more, we are currently in the process of a diagnosis for my boy. Through this process we have learnt so much about the importance of advocacy and understanding.
The last 2 years has been a wild ride for my boy and our family. During this time we have begun our journey in learning sign language, learning my boy on a whole new level and having endless patience and understanding for the things he faces day to day.
I often wonder what life will be like for him as he grows up and enters the world on his own. I often wonder if other children his age will know about Autism, I wonder how life will be different for him than other children his age. This is why I have chosen to Walk for Autism in the month of May, I hope to bring awareness to Autism and share the beautiful life we also live.
Being open minded, understanding, encouraging and accepting of those in the community is the best thing we can do, so if by doing this challenge for the month of May will do this, sign me up!!
Thank you for reading a little about our story!
