Go Emma, My great nephew is 12, also has Autism and he really struggled with speaking, touch, loud noises crowds etc. His mum and dad worked really hard with him and his therapy, he is amazing little man. He now makes friends, gives hugs, and speaks at the school assembly and much more. He has been brought up to be independent and taught how to take care of himself, cook etc and unless you knew his background you wouldn't know. Do all you can for your daughter and give her all the chances to become and amazing person and be able to achieve her independence and choose what she wants to do with her life.
