I’m walking 10k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

I’ve stepped up to Walk for Autism. Please show your support as I walk my own brilliant way for Autistic Australians and their families!

Did you know? Because the world is not autism-friendly, 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health challenges.

Our beautiful Emily is autistic. She was non-verbal for many years, but through consistent, intensive therapy, she found her voice — something we will never take for granted.

Autism is often called an invisible disability because it isn’t always obvious to others. Every autistic person experiences the world differently. It can affect how someone communicates, interacts socially, processes emotions, and responds to sensory input like noise, light, or touch. What may seem like small things to others can feel overwhelming, while other moments can bring incredible focus, passion, and unique strengths.

Autism is not something that needs to be “fixed” — it’s a different way of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world. The world wasn’t built for people like Emily, but it’s the world that needs to learn, adapt, and do better — to be more inclusive, more understanding, and more accepting
