I'm walking for myself and

Hi! My name is Molly, I’m 16 and I have autism. Having support is essential to me being able to live a normal life. I’m not quite there yet, but because of services funded by fundraisers like this, I’ve come so far. I got diagnosed as autistic at ten years old. Once I developed an understanding of what autism actually was a few years later, a lot of things fell into place and made sense. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realised that a lot of support services are only for children and that needs to change. Teens and adults are expected to present in a more neuro typical manner and manage more in their everyday lives with less support available. If you can afford donate to help support these services and in turn me, my friends, and so many more people with brains like ours, it would mean the world. If you can’t, a simple share is just as meaningful.

~

I’ve stepped up to Walk for autism to help create a world where no-one on the autism spectrum is left behind.

I’ll be challenging myself to walk 10,000 steps a day for 8 days while raising much needed funds to support people on the autism spectrum.

An estimated 1 in every 70 people is on the autism spectrum. Along with their family members, this means autism is a part of daily life for over a million Australians.

People on the autism spectrum see, hear, feel and experience the world differently. For many, simply coping with the everyday can lead to confusion, anxiety and isolation.

By coming together and taking action, we can help provide opportunities for people on the autism spectrum to participate, engage and thrive in the world around them.

Help make my steps count and show your support by donating today!

Life is truly a journey. One step at a time. Don't forget however that the joy and the lessons are in the steps not the destination.
