My sweet boy!

Before he was formally diagnosed it wasnā€™t an easy road for both of us. We were turned away told ā€œ he was just being a kid he will grow out of itā€ and countless times asked what do you want from this.

I wanted my son head, seen and acknowledged that he is who he is but he needs to understand himself to be able to live life and thrive like every other kid.

I canā€™t remember the amount of sleepless nights why he did certain things and never looked at because I was ā€œ a young mum ā€œ imagine driving your 8 year old son to the ED hearing the words ā€œ mum I donā€™t deserve to be here my life is worthless and I donā€™t want be be here anymoreā€ AT 8!!! I had been up for 4 days straight watching him hurt himself trying to get help and nothing until I found him trying to actually hurt himself.Ā 

But that wasnā€™t enough he wasnā€™t a danger to himself or anyone else. Iā€™ve gone through so much and I will forever fight for my child and anyone else who is experiencing something like I have.Ā 

This isnā€™t fair on our children, finally being heard and getting answers to understand why he does certain things and how to help him when he needs it most.Ā 

This diagnosis will never change him will never define him. I will move mountains to make sure he gets what he needs in life and to be sure no one else has to experience what we did.Ā 

So thank you for the love the support and to help those who need it most šŸ’™.Ā
