I’m walking 10k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

Did you know, because the world is not autism-friendly, 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health challenges.

And so It’s that time of year again, Aspect highlights a month of steps to raise awareness for Autism.

In July 2023, Henley was formally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder level 2 and Chromosome 13q14 deletion syndrome.

Everyday, his personality shines a little brighter!

These past few years have shaped us in ways we never imagined. We’ve learned a different kind of communication, and a deeper patience and understanding than we ever knew before. There have been tears, tough days, plenty of setbacks along the way - but there has also been an amazing amount of growth, laughter, academic achievements, social achievements and to be raw and honest things I was never sure would happen, happen! And in 2026, we dived into year one with our amazing SU and he loves every single day of it and his educators.

Given the recent changes to NDIS and the unknown stresses, what better time to raise MORE awareness. So again this year, I will be walking in support of Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia), all donations will help deliver services that support Autistic people to live their best life and the chances and resources they deserve. Funds raised can help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, personally I believe early diagnosis/intervention and immediate support is the best way to give these kiddos the absolute best chance t thriving, aspect provides autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.

All and any donations, will be appreciated!
