I’m walking 10k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

This May, I’m committing to something simple… but meaningful.

10,000 steps every single day.

Not for fitness.

But for something much deeper.

I’m walking for autism.

Because autism isn’t just a word or a diagnosis.

It’s a way of experiencing the world that can be beautiful, overwhelming, intense, and often misunderstood all at once.

It’s the child who feels everything so deeply but struggles to explain it.

The person who masks their true self just to be accepted.

The quiet battles, the sensory overload, the exhaustion of trying to “fit” into a world that wasn’t designed with them in mind.

And yet… it’s also creativity, honesty, brilliance, and perspectives the world desperately needs.

Every step I take this month is a reminder that support matters.

Understanding matters.

Patience matters.

Some days, 10,000 steps will feel easy.

Other days, it won’t.

But that’s kind of the point.

Because for many people with autism, everyday things that others find “easy”… aren’t.

So this is my way of showing up.

Of choosing to do something consistently, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when it’s hard.

If you’re able to donate, you’re not just supporting a challenge  you’re helping create a world that feels a little safer, a little kinder, and a lot more understanding.

And if you can’t donate, even just reading this, sharing it, reposting it  or taking a moment to educate yourself… that matters too.

Thank you for walking this with me, in whatever way you can 🤍
