Steps for My Beautiful Boy: Fundraising for Autism Support with Aspect
I’m walking for my beautiful son who has autism, and for all the Autistic Australians and families who deserve better support.
As a mum, I’ve felt first-hand how tough it can be. Getting an early diagnosis is often a long, stressful battle, and even once you have it, finding the right help, therapy, education, or just everyday understanding can feel overwhelming and out of reach without proper funding. Autism brings real challenges for the person living with it and for the loved ones right by their side every day. Without enough support, too many families struggle, and lives don’t get to unfold the way they should, with joy, independence, and possibility.
But with the right help, Autistic people can reach their full potential, achieve incredible things, and contribute in ways that truly change the world for the better.
That’s why I’ve stepped up for Walk for Autism. This May, I’m committing to 7,000 steps a day to raise funds for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia). Your support will help provide earlier diagnosis, autism-specific schooling, vital services, research, and more inclusive environments so Autistic people and their families can truly live their best lives.
I’m also doing this to motivate myself to finally get active and prioritise my own wellbeing. As a parent, self-care so often gets pushed to the back burner, but committing to these daily steps is a great way to recharge, stay healthy, and keep being the strong, present mum my son needs and deserves. What better reason to start than this?
Did you know? Because the world isn’t always autism-friendly, 70% of Autistic people in Australia face mental health challenges.
Please join me every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us build a kinder, more supportive world.
Donate here and walk with us in spirit! 💙
