Hey Babe Crew

Why were you born so beautiful

If you asked me 10 years ago what autism was, I wouldn’t have known much about it. They call it a spectrum for a reason — every child experiences it differently.

As a mum, I always knew Nate ran on his own frequency. He loved harder, felt deeper, and saw the world differently. He lit up every room he walked into, then came school, school was loud, overwhelming and emotionally exhausting for a child as sensitive and literal as him. He realised the world wasn’t as kind as him and couldn’t comprehend the name calling or why a lot of people didn’t understand him.

After two long years, thousands of dollars, and many struggles, Nate was diagnosed with autism.

Hearing the words “lifelong disability” attached to your child crushes a mum no matter what level. Then came the therapy needs and ongoing support. Without NDIS funding, I honestly couldn’t provide the level of support Nate needs, and many families can’t even afford the testing process.

That’s why my three beautiful boys and I are walking 12,000 steps every day in May to raise money for autism support and families in need. If you know Nate, you’ll know he calls everyone “babe,” which is why our team is called The Hey Babe Crew. And almost daily he says to me:

“Why were you born so beautiful?”

That’s Nate. He loves with his whole heart.

If you can spare even a small donation, we would be so grateful ❤️

I’m walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

I’ve stepped up to Walk for Autism. Please show your support as I walk my own brilliant way for Autistic Australians and their families!

Did you know? Because the world is not autism-friendly, 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health challenges.

That's why I'm walking 7k steps a day in May to fundraise for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia). Can you please support me?

Your donation will help deliver services that support Autistic people to live their best life.

Funds raised can help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.

Please support my Walk for Autism and donate now. Thank you so much!
