We're walking for Autism for our friends, family and clients on the spectrum.
We're so happy you've found our donations page for the Walk for Autism! Don't go - keep reading!
Chances are you know a bit about Autism. Maybe you're a carer for a child with Autism, maybe your friend at soccer has Autism, maybe you're a therapist working with people who have Autism, maybe you're a teacher with kids in your class with Autism, maybe you yourself have just been diagnosed, maybe you read about it on Instagram, or if you're old, in the newspaper!
I don't know what you know, so I'll summarise some stats here for your convenience:
-1.1% of Australians have a diagnosis of Autism (41.8% increase since 2018)
-70% of people diagnosed with Autism experience mental health challenges
-77% of people with Autism experience difficulties at school
-Only 50.2% of working-age Autistic Australians are actively engaged in the workforce
-Over 45% of people accessing the NDIS scheme in Australia have Autism as a primary diagnosis
-100% of people with Autism have unique and incredible gifts to offer the world!
The stats show there are disproportionate challenges for people with Autism as opposed to neurotypical people. We're walking to raise funds for quality research, gold-standard therapy and an autism friendly world to reduce some of these challenges.
Your donations will contribute to a world where these challenges can be transformed to opportunities... Just imagine what we could learn and what we could achieve with the incredible power of a brain that works differently!
Don't hesitate - DONATE!
Thank you for your brilliant donation
