I’m walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians
Autism is something very close to my heart. My son is autistic, level 3, non-verbal and a sensory seeker. Every day he experiences the world in a way that is beautifully unique, but it also comes with challenges that many people don’t see. Communication looks different for him, understanding the world can be overwhelming, and supporting his needs takes patience, learning and a whole lot of love.
He has taught me more about strength, resilience and unconditional love than I ever imagined possible. While the journey can be hard, it is also incredibly rewarding watching him grow, learn and find joy in the little things.
This walk means so much to our family. It’s about raising awareness, acceptance and support for autistic individuals and their families. Every step taken helps create a more understanding and inclusive world for children like my son.
