I’m walking 7k steps a day this May to support autistic Australians like me

Hi friends and fam,

This May, I’ve stepped up to Walk for Autism. I'm committed to walking 7km a day to support autistic Australians like me and their loved ones. In doing so, I hope to make a positive difference in the lives of neurodivergent people.

Did you know that 1 in 40 Australians are autistic?! But because our society is not designed with autistic and neurodivergent people in mind, 70% of autistic Australians experience significant mental health challenges. I know this firsthand, having faced mental health challenges like debilitating anxiety and OCD since childhood.

Please donate to help me raise awareness for autistic Australians and the challenges they face throughout their lives. I'm especially passionate about advocating for those who go unnoticed and undiagnosed until later in life, as many autistic girls, women, and non-binary folks do. Late diagnosis was my experience.

For all of these reasons, I'm walking 7k steps a day from 1st–31st May to fundraise for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia). Can you please support me? It would be much very much appreciated.

Your donation will help deliver frontline support services that enable autistic people to live their best lives – myself included, yay!

For example, funds raised can help autistic people and their families to access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling environments for children (that definitely would've helped me), and support research initiatives for designing more inclusive, autism-friendly spaces overall.
