I'm walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians
In July 2023, Henley was formally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder level 2 and Chromosome 13q14 deletion syndrome.
Anyone who meets Henley, knows he faces his daily challenges with the most beautiful kind heart and everyday his outgoing, gentle, smart little personality shines that little bit more.
This entire journey over the last few years has taught us both how to communicate differently, it has taught patience and understanding, it has shown us many tears, many break downs, many small victories and hiccups and most importantly has blessed me with a little boy with so much to give, so much to grow and deserves the recognition of his efforts. If there is anyone on this earth that bring me back down to basics, to soak up the little things and be grateful for everything we have, it’s this tiny little guy.
We have now taken a giant leap in Kindergarten for 2025, creating a whole new level of exciting challenges, victories and learning curbs.
Again this year, I will be walking in support of Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia), all donations will help deliver services that support Autistic people to live their best life and the chances and resources they deserve. Funds raised can help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.
