๐ DAY 19: GOAL ACHIEVEDโฆ WITH 11 DAYS STILL TO GO ๐
Weekend update: the step count definitely slowed down a littleโฆ apparently even my legs wanted a weekend break ๐
BUT despite the slower pace, Iโve officially cracked my monthly goal of 217,000 steps in just 19 days, currently sitting at 217,560 steps with 11 whole days left in May.
Honestly, when I set this challenge, I thought the goal sounded ambitious. Now Iโm wondering if I accidentally unlocked a personality trait where I physically cannot quit once emotionally invested.
But the biggest thing this month has reminded me of is how important awareness, understanding, and acceptance really are. Autism isnโt always visible, and social situations or communication can feel very different for autistic people. Things many take for granted: noise, eye contact, conversations, busy environments, changes in routine can be overwhelming or exhausting.
Sometimes the greatest thing we can offer isnโt โfixingโ anythingโฆ itโs patience, inclusion, and creating spaces where autistic people feel safe to be fully themselves ๐
This challenge has always been about more than numbers for me. Itโs about advocacy. Itโs about my ย son Oliver. Itโs about helping create a world that understands neurodivergent people a little better than it did yesterday.
217,560 steps down.
11 days left.
Legs: deteriorating.
Commitment to the cause: unfortunately stronger than ever. ๐๐
Thank you for every donation, share, message, and bit of support along the way. It genuinely means more than you know.
๐ DAY 3 UPDATEโฆ posted on Day 4 because apparently my step count wasnโt the only thing moving slowly ๐
๐จ DAY ONE: WE ARE OFFICIALLY IN BUSINESS ๐๐จ
Iโm walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians
Iโve stepped up to Walk for Autism. Please show your support as I walk my own brilliant way for Autistic Australians and their families!
Did you know? Because the world is not autism-friendly, 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health challenges.
That's why I'm walking 7k steps a day in May to fundraise for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia). Can you please support me?
Your donation will help deliver services that support Autistic people to live their best life.
Funds raised can help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.
Please support my Walk for Autism and donate now. Thank you so much!
