I'm walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

Just like so many other families around Australia, we have been going through the gruelling process of seeking support for our three year old son Charlie. After hundreds of phone calls, emails and networking within our community, we were able to find a team of support; his GP, Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist,  Psychologist and Paedeatrician. He was diagnosed with Level 2 Autism.

While NDIS may be accessible via Early Intervention for some, the process is arduous. The waiting lists are long, the appointments seem endless and it's easy to lose hope when you can't afford to be self funded. Whilst we are so lucky to have a system in place that funds support and resources for this disability, it leaves a gap wide open in the system whereby whilst waiting for funding our Autistic community suffers. Each appointment is hundreds of dollars, most requiring multiple appointments a week.

Please show your support as I walk for Autistic Australians and their families! Your donation will help create a more autism-friendly world.

It could help fund life-changing initiatives such as access to early diagnosis, so Autistic people just like Charlie can grow up with the support and understanding of himself and others in the Autistic community.

Every donation means more support, every step of the way! It’s a brilliant way to create a brighter future for families and communities just like ours.

Please donate now. Thank you so much! Love the Newman family 💚
