I’m walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians
I’m taking part in Walk for Autism this May because autism holds a deeply special place in my heart. It’s something that has shaped my perspective, strengthened my voice, and driven a genuine passion for advocacy and change.
Autism doesn’t discriminate — it touches individuals and families from all walks of life. Yet despite this, there is still so much stigma and misunderstanding surrounding autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. That’s something I feel incredibly strongly about changing. Greater awareness, acceptance, and access to the right supports can make a life-changing difference.
Early intervention is so important. When individuals are given the right support early on, it can significantly impact their development, independence, and overall quality of life. This is something every person deserves.
This journey is often challenging — at times overwhelming — but it is also the most rewarding. It brings resilience, perspective, and a deeper understanding of what true inclusion should look like.
I’m walking not just to raise funds, but to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and help create a future where neurodiversity is understood, respected, and embraced. Any support means being part of that change.
Much Love,
Gabby
