Amanda Earley

I’m walking 7k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

Hi! My name is Amanda Earley, and I was diagnosed with autism only a few years ago. For most of my life before my diagnosis, I often felt different and was told to “just be normal.” At the time, I didn’t fully understand why things felt harder for me than they seemed to for other people. Being diagnosed helped me understand myself better and realise that being different isn’t something to be ashamed of. It has helped me learn more about who I am and how I experience the world.

This year will be my second year walking and running to support autism awareness and fundraising. Last year was a really meaningful experience for me because it gave me the chance to support a cause that is very personal to my life. It also made me feel proud to help raise awareness and show support for other people and families who are part of the autism community.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for supporting a cause that is very important to me.
