A Little Neuro-Spicy

We’re walking 7k steps a day in May for our Neuro-Spicy Family

Last year (2024), we received the confirmation that our 4-year-old daughter is Autistic. This wasn’t a surprise to us, but what did surprise us was learning that 70% of Autistic people in Australia experience mental health issues. This is because we live in a world that isn’t catered to the neurodivergent family or individual.

Having been through the gruelling process of accessing assessments, engaging in the necessary support therapies and trying to find the best school to suit her needs, we know first-hand how difficult it can be.

That's why we’re walking 7k steps a day in May to fundraise for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia).

Aspect provides supports and services to help Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis, provide autism-specific schooling for children on the autism spectrum, support research and help create inclusive, autism-friendly environments.

As parents who experienced the difficulty of childhood undiagnosed, we know how important it is to help offer our daughter the support she needs to live and grow to her fullest potential – and organisations like Aspect can help!

If you can, please support our Walk for Autism by donating today. If not, that’s ok! As we all know, words of encouragement and acknowledgement are just as important and appreciated. Thank you so much!

Thank you for your brilliant donation
