I’m taking part in the Walk for Autism this year for someone who means everything to me — my 8-year-old son.
My son is non-verbal and has Level 3 Autism, which means he faces significant daily challenges with communication, understanding the world around him, and expressing his needs. Simple things many of us take for granted — like telling me how his day was, asking for help, or making friends — are incredibly difficult for him. As his parent, I see both his struggles and his strength every single day.
He works so hard to navigate a world that isn’t always built for him. There are moments of frustration, sensory overload, and isolation — but there are also moments of pure joy, resilience, and love that remind me why advocacy and awareness matter so much.
I’m walking to raise awareness, understanding, and support for children like my son and families like ours. Funds raised go toward vital services, therapies, and programs that help children on the autism spectrum build skills, confidence, and connection.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a difference. It means more access to support, more opportunities for growth, and a more inclusive future for children living with autism.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting this cause that is so close to my heart.
