I'm walking 10k steps a day this May to support Autistic Australians

As some of you may know my daughter was diagnosed with level 3 Autism at the age of 3. One of the greatest lessons I have learnt is that the world we live in is not Autism friendly and we still have a very long way to go as a society to help nurture and foster all people diagnosed with Autism to not only exist but to thrive. 

Autism is not a disease, it cannot be "cured". It is not the same for everybody, it is not linear. Autism is a neurological condition . It is a unique way of experiencing the world. For the people who have been diagnosed it is not a curse nor is it a blessing . These individuals require support and more than likely will for the rest of their lives . 

ASPECT help families and children with autism by:

• Funding critical research to further explore mental health issues experienced by Autistic people and what support is needed to improve their wellbeing.
• Helping Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis so they grow up with the support and understanding that comes from an autism diagnosis.
• Providing specialist schooling for children on the autism spectrum in an environment that allows them to embrace their different brilliant.

I will be posting track of my steps on Facebook and the fundraising page daily . My goal is to raise $1500 dollars in the month of May which is directly donated to ASPECT. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. The goal is that Autism will one day be better understood and that these individuals will have support earlier and more intensely.
