Why Walk? Aspect Principal Joanne Tisdell
Walk for autism, held annually around March each year, challenges participants to take 10,000 steps a day for eight days while raising vital funds for people of all ages on the autism spectrum. It is a virtual event, which means you can take part at any time, place and pace that suits you. You can take on the challenge solo, set up a team or enrol your workplace. An estimated one in every 70 people in Australia is on the autism spectrum. It is likely that you know someone, perhaps a family member, friend, workmate or student. Walk for autism not only raises funds and awareness for our Aspect schools and other projects but brings together an incredible community of walkers who are passionate about making the world a more autism friendly place.
