About Daniel

Daniel is a young man living on the autism spectrum who works tirelessly as an advocate, not only for people on the Autism Spectrum, but for all people with disability, as well as those experiencing other disadvantages.

He was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2-and-a-half years. As a child, he experienced delays in verbal communication, did not understand social interactions and attended a special school.

With the right support from his family and so many others, he was able to transition his education to mainstream schooling. He then went on to achieve a Bachelor of Graphic Design (with Honours) at University.

As an adult he lives independently, works part-time as a graphic designer and photographer, and does a range of volunteer work. He is also passionate about educating the community about living with Autism and mentoring others who live on the spectrum.

He was honoured in 2017 with the Order of Australia Medal for his work in disability advocacy, as well as in his other volunteer roles.
